Factual Series

As a staff photographer for the now defunct music paper Melody Maker, Phil Nicholls toured the world and photographed some of the biggest rock and pop stars.
Phil's iconic images, and award-winning books cover a wide variety of subjects, but his influence can be traced to the Victorian Falmouth-based photographer E. A Bragg and his photographic reportage of life in Cornwall in the years leading up to the Great War.

The documentary short provides a unique insight into the story behind Phil's powerful images and his quest to discover more about the poignant photographs and tragic life of Edward Bragg.

Filmed by Emlyn Glanmôr-Harris, the documentary aired as episode seven of our 'Beneath a Mackerel Sky' series on Sky and FreeSat.
